Matthew J. Meyer earned his PhD from McGill University in Educational Administration and has served as a middle and secondary school English language arts and drama teacher and then Department Chair, Visual and Performing Arts, at St. George’s School of Montreal (1976-1999). Moving to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, he then fulfilled teaching and research positions as Associate Professor of Education and Senior Research Associate, Faculty of Education, at St. Francis Xavier University from 1999-2019 (retired) with specializations in school leadership, teacher education, and drama education. Dr. Meyer has published in these specialties, presented academic and non-academic papers, and lectures, and has led in-service consultations for school boards and related organizations, focusing on school organization, administrator succession, and leadership theories using drama/theatrical models.
